Last night at my table, we had a bunch of races and backgrounds, but all we knew, was that we were one family who came together to break bread, share stories, laugh, marvel at each others’ children, and eventually crash on the couch. This is America. Don’t fall for division.

Part of self-care is denying further access to people who have proven to take advantage of your generosity.

It takes a lot of energy to get upset, to live offended, to think about what they said, to try to straighten them out. That’s energy you need for your dreams, to pursue your goals, to enjoy your family.

Be happy within yourselves. Not everyone gets invited to everything. If I see friends out together I'm happy for them, it's not personal, it doesn't mean they like me any less. Don't rely on others for your own happiness or wellbeing, it comes from within.
